★★★ I returned to the high society of Regency-era England as well as the magical realm of Faerie in Atwater's second book in the Regency Faerie Tales series, and I have to say, it was a very pleasant read. I often listened to it on my morning walks along the Bosque, and this book in particular felt perfect for reading outside since it mentions so much greenery, forests, and the natural world. Happy Sunday, friends! This month has been absolutely exhausting, as evidenced by my lack of posts lately. Now that life is slowing down again, I wanted to share my August TBR list and what I’ve been reading so far. I started the month off by reading Leave and Come Back by Lavanya Lakshmi, which I gave 4 stars. It was a fun, surprisingly heartfelt read that had me laughing and crying to the end. A couple of Saturdays ago, we had an exciting, book-filled day. We started the morning with the monthly book sale at the Albuquerque Main Library. Recently, we became Friends of the Library to support our favorite non-profit org. We looked around for about an hour in different sections (Liv's go-to being social sciences, and her new favorites being the metaphysical and history sections) and found some interesting picks: Women's Diaries of the Westward Journey by Carl N. We tried to visit Vellum & Vine, Albuquerque’s new woman-owned romance bookstore, and ended up with an unexpected Barnes & Noble book haul featuring vampire romance, fantasy, dystopian fiction, and Virgil’s The Aeneid.
