My August TBR List
Happy Sunday, friends! This month has been absolutely exhausting, as evidenced by my lack of posts lately. Now that life is slowing down again, I wanted to share my August TBR list and what I’ve been reading so far.
I started the month off by reading Leave and Come Back by Lavanya Lakshmi, which I gave 4 stars. It was a fun, surprisingly heartfelt read that had me laughing and crying to the end. I finished Boring Asian Female by Canwen Xu, which wasn’t as good as I expected (3 stars), but it was still an emotional rollercoaster. Lastly, I FINALLY finished reading Kindred by Octavia Butler, which I rated 3 stars. I was motivated by the Hulu show based on the book, as I wanted to read it first before watching it. I’ll be making a separate post on my thoughts about the book and show adaptation in my upcoming series, Popcorn and Paperbacks. Here’s my current list, which I like to split into two. Wish me luck!
To be read:
Molka by Monika Kim
The Wilderness by Angela Fluornoy
Finish reading:
Preparing for War: The Extremist History of White Christian Nationalism by Bradley Onishi
Death Valley by Melissa Broder
